The Quebec Provincial Government and the Government of Canada have an agreement that allows Quebec to select immigrants who best meet its immigration needs, under the Canada-Quebec accord on Immigration, Quebec is able to establish its own immigration requirements and select immigrants who will adapt well to living in Quebec. The Quebec Skilled Workers Program uses completely different criteria for selecting applicants on the likelihood of successful economic and social integration.

Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program (AIPP):

This is an Employer-driven program, with significant involvement from the designated employers in the Atlantic provinces party to the program, namely New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Businesses in these provinces can offer jobs to eligible non-Canadians, and only with a job offer, one can apply for permanent residence in Canada through one of these programs:

  • • A)Atlantic High-Skilled Program (AHSP)
  • • B)Atlantic Intermediate-Skilled Program (AISP)

If the candidate accepts the job offer, the employer will then connect the candidate with a designated Settlement Service provider organization for a needs assessments and developing a settlement plan. The Employers will also support the long term integration of the new immigrant and his/her family
